NEW UPDATES: 10DLC Requirements

4 min. readlast update: 01.16.2025

There have been new requirements from the campaign registry and national phone carriers to ensure proper 10DLC registration, namely to ensure less blocks when sending SMS messages and protection of consumers from spam and phishing text messages.

They were recently updated as of November 2024 to the list of requirements each business needs to adhere prior to sending text messages by February 1, 2025.

The 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) requirements are primarily overseen by The Campaign Registry (TCR), which manages the registration of businesses using 10DLC. TCR ensures that businesses comply with messaging regulations and helps carriers identify and manage messaging traffic. Mobile carriers, such as T-MobileAT&T, and Verizon, also play a key role in enforcing 10DLC requirements by imposing surcharges, blocking unregistered traffic, and setting technical standards for message delivery.

NOTE: If this is new to you, please review this Knowledge Base article titled 10DLC Messaging Registration & Avoiding Common Blockers to understand the 10DLC process, why it's required, and other steps to become registered.
